Uhtred married, as his second wife, Sige, daughter of Styr, son of Ulf. Styr was a rich citizen of York. It appears that Uhtred was trying to make political allies amongst the Danes in Deira. Through Sige, Uhtred had two children, Eadulf, later Eadulf III, and Gospatric. Sigen married Uchtred "the Bold" Earl of Northumberland, son of Waltheof Earl of Northumberland and Unknown. (Uchtred "the Bold" Earl of Northumberland was born in 989 and died in 1016 in Wighall near York, England 161.)
