A certificate of baptismal record prepared in Latin on 1 Aug 1802 stated that in Santa Ana, on 12 Sep 1784, fray José Vilchez batized María Gertrudis, the legitimate daughter of Juan Gutíerrez and Victoria Salazar, españoles from Santa Ana. Her godparents were Eusebio Rael and María Josefa de los Dolores Rael from the Alburquerque jurisdiction. A second baptismal certificte prepared by Father Bernal, in Spanish, noted that the godparents were citizens of Alameda and that the child was born on 8 September.

Bernardino de Jesús Chaves, 25, español, is the legitimate son of Santiago Chaves and the late Margarita Varel, citizens of the first plaze of los Chaves. María Gertrudis Gutiérrez, 18, española, the legitimate daughter of Juan Isidro Gutiérrez and Victorial Salazar, citiaen of San Antonio del Sabinal. The couple was related in the fourth degree of consanguinity on a traverse line.

In Belen, the coule told Father Bernal they had the approval of their arents and knew they were related.

In Durango on 16 Sep 1802, Canon Fernández Valentín stated that a dispensation on the basis of angusti loci was not justified by the witnesses, but given the great distance from New Mexico to Durango he approved the marriage proceed on the condition that the parish riest reexamine the witnesses concerning angusti loci and that such a procedure should be followed in all future cases.

On 30 Jun 1803, Father Bernal redid the proceedings . Gernardino reeated his prvious statements. María Gertrudis added that she had been born in Bernalillo, but had lived in the Belen jurisdiction for more than twelve years.

Witness: José García Jurado, 79, citizen of the plaza of Belen.
Father Bernal forwarded the documents to Durango. On 20 February 1804, Visitor General Pedro Millán Rodríguez.
