According to the reasearch of Savador Treviñi Castro, there is a document in the notarial archives of the City of Durango which identifies Violante de Terrazas as the daughter of Diego de la Mancha. Diego de la Mancha was in Nueva España by 1561. Diego made arrangements, which were finalized in early 1563, for his wife, María Hernádez Cara Osorgan (or Caraosorgano) and their two daughters, María and Francisca, to join him in Nueva España.

Diego de la Mancha, a vecino of the Villa de Durango and Alguacíl mayor of the kingdom of Nueva Vizcaya, gave testimony on 9 Feb 1570. In his testimony he stated that he was a native of the "Villa de Cortegana en los reinos de Castilla ques es en Sierra Morena" as well as giving his age to be fifty years. His testimony establishes that he was among the first to settle the Villa de Durango in 1563. [1]
