Juan Antonio de Apodaca of Santa Cruz, brother of Juan Esteban, was bereft of his first wife, María Durán, before he was twenty-six, when he married Francisca Lucero de Godoy at Albuquerque, on November 8, 1716. He was still residing at Santa Cruz in 1727, but is mentioned as a soldier of Santa Fe the following year. He is very likely the Juan de Apodaca mentioned with his daughter María as being related to Ana Bernal of Santa Cruz. A known son of his was Felipe de Apodaca.
