bullet  Information about this person:

• Background Information. 141
Robert de Stafford, son and heir, notified the bishops of Worcester and Chester, between 1138 and 1147, of his gift of his chapel of Stafford to Stone Priory. In 1155, he was an arbitrator, and was sheriff of Staffordshire, retaining the office until 1160. In 1166 he returned his Carta, and in 1167-8 he accounted for the aid for the marriage of the King's daughter from his 60 knights. He last appears in the Pipe Rolls in 1177-78, and probably died between that date and 1184-85. He married Avice, and was buried at Stone with his wife.
