The connection between Emma & John Cheney and his wife Maud Capenhurst has not be verified by sources other than Memoirs of the Ancient Earls of Warren and Surrey, and Their Descendants to the Present Time, Volume 1, which appears to be based on The Visitation of Shropshire, Taken in the Year 1623, which has been called unreliable by memebers of soc.genealogy.medieval. ^193,805,1493

Thomas de Capenhurst had issue two daughters of whom Maud married first Sir John Cheney of Willaston, kt. and second, Adam del Lee of Capenhurst, as found by the Inq. 8 Hen. V of Chrisopher Hogh of Thorton Mayowe, as given at Leghton, the latter being a dependant manor of the mesne manor of Capenhurst. By her first marriage, her daughter and coheiress, Maud Cheney became the wife of William de Cholomodeley.

Emma married Sir John Warenne Knight, son of Griffin Warenne and Margaret Corbet.¹⁴⁹¹ (Sir John Warenne Knight was born in Ightfield, Shropshire, England and died on 4 Feb 1413 in Shropshire, England ^193,1492.)
