• Dates & Events: 100 Edmund Sherman was baptized at Dedham, Essex Co., England on either June 23, 1599 or Oct. 23, 1599 (the church records shows both dates, in 2 different hands; NEHGS "Register," Vol 50, pg. 415). In his father's will of 1 Aug. 1599, he received, after the decease of his stepmother Anne, all his father's houses and lands, as well as seven acres called "Ryes" where Edmund was residing at the time, and "... my sherman's occupation...," likely having to do with his business as a clothier.
He may have immigrated without his wife, who later came with one or more children in 1637. He was Freeman at Watertown, MA May 25, 1636; he was at Wethersfield in 1635 and went to New Haven where he died in 1641.
His will and inventory are missing from New Haven records, although they are referred to in New Haven Colony records, Vol 1, pg 52: "3 Mon 1641. An Inventory and will of Olde Father Shirman was delivered into Court."
• He emigrated about 1632.
• He had a residence. 108 Edmond and his with Judith first settled in Watertown, Massachusetts, next to Wethersfield, Conn. and finally to New Haven, where they both died.
