Richard Hassand may be the "Richerd Hasand" mentioned in the will of John Cooke of Cadney, co. Lincoln, 17 Jan. 1526 [Consistory Court of Lincoln, 1520-31, fo. 75.]
His will reads as follows:
"In ye name of god Amen the xviith day of ffebruarij in he yere of or lord god ncccccxliij I Rychard hassand of Thorganbye husbandman makes my last wyll & testamet' in man' & forme folowyng
"fyrst byqweiths my soule to almyghtie god or lady saynt Marie & to all saynts in heven & my body to be furyed wtyn ye churche yearde of thorganbye
"It' I byqweith for my mortuarij as ye lawe shall requyre
"It' to ye hye alt' in ye said churche for tythes forgotten via & to ye mendyng of one glasse wyndowe in ye said churche vid & to or ladies works in lyncoln' iiijd
