Thomas Whatlock, was likely born about 1520-1530, in Rattlesden, Suffolk, England where he was buried on 24 Jan 1608, as "a very old man." Thomas married a woman by the name of Joane, who was also buried in Rattlesden, 14 Mar 1610/1 as "y^e Relict of Thomas Whatlocke." Their know children are:

• Roger, bap 15 May 1561, and evidently died without issue since he left his property to his brother, Robert

• Robert, bap. 20 Mul 1564, bur. 28 Sep 1622, in Rattlesden, as "an ancient man," and married first to Mary Bartholomew, married second to an unnamed woman, and for a third time to a woman named Rachel. Robert Whatlock of Rattlesden,, made a will 20 Sep 1622, and proved 8 Oct 1622, in Ipswich. He gave all his lands to "Thomas Skotte, my kinsman, of Rattlesden, glover; to Martha Scott, my sister £3; to Ursula Kemball, my kindswoman £3; . . . my brother Roger Whatlocke left me a house in Norfolk, I leave the same to said Thomas Scott; to poor of Rattlesden, 10s. Thomas Scott to be sole executor. Wit: Peter Devereau, George Salter, Henry Skotte. Register Bradstreet," fo. 12 [Notes on the Church & Parish of Rattlesden, 134].

• Martha, bap 18 Jul 1568; married to Henry Scott and the mother of Thomas & Ursula named in her brother Robert's will.
