Juan Lorenzo Valdes married Josefa de Salazar at Santa Cruz on 2 May 1729. With Ignacio and Rosalia Valdes he was sued by Torres people regarding some land in Rio Arriba. This Rosalía could well be the Rosa Valdes who acted as a sponsor with her son, Juan Valdes, on J 7 Jan 1739, and was very likely a sister to Juan Lorenzo and the others.
