Entered military service in the war against the French and Indians known as King William's war, as lieutenant in Capt. Wiswall's company and was killed in a fight with the Indians at Wheelwright's Pond or Lamprey River (now in town of Lee, N. H.), 6 July, 1690.

Lietenant Gershom Flegg and his two bothers, William & Bartholomew, died while fighting in King Phillip's War.

Gershom Flagg was he eldest son of Thomas Flagg. He was born in Watertown, MA, 16 Apr 1646. He settled in Woborn, MA, and married Hannah Leppingwell on 15 Apr 1688. Hannah was born 6 Jan 1647/8 in Woburn & was the duaghter of Mitchell Leppingwell. Hannah and Gershom had ten children.

Gershom Glagg was admitted freeman in Watertown 27 May 1676, and according to North's History of Augusta, Maine, he was slain by Native Americans at Lamprey River, NH, 6 Jul 1690, presumably while on an expedition against Fort Royal, Acadia, in French Territory. His widow married 10 Dec 1696. Ensign Israel Walker, whose first wife had died 9 Mar 1694.

• Grave Stone:


Died in battle, 06 Jul 1690, near Wheelwright Pond in Dover, New Hampshire.
That part of Dover became the town of Lee.


Gershom married Hannah Leppingwell, daughter of Michael Leppingwell and Isabel wife of Michael Leppingwell, on 15 Apr 1668 in Woburn, Massachusetts.567 (Hannah Leppingwell was born 6 Jan 1645 or 6 Jan 1646 in Woburn, Massachusetts 567 and died on 29 Mar 1724 in Woburn, Massachusetts 567.)
