From Successors of Rome: Francia - The founding of the Country of Flanders was due to Judith, the Daughter of Charles the Bald. She had arranged marriage with two English Kings, but fell in love with Baldwin I "Iron Arm." She eloped with Baldwin, despite her father's disapproval. Charles later relented, and granted Flanders to his daughter and Baldwin.


Judith married Baudouin I "Bras-de-Fer" Comte de Flanders in Jan 862 in Senlis.529 (Baudouin I "Bras-de-Fer" Comte de Flanders was born in 810 in Flanders and died in 879 in Flanders 529.)


Judith next married Æthelwulf, King Wessex & England, son of Ecgberht of Wessex "the Great", King of the English and Redburh Queen of Wessex, on 1 Oct 856 in Verberie sur Oise 160.,529 (Æthelwulf, King Wessex & England was born about 806, died on 13 Jan 858 in England 160,529 and was buried in Winchester Cathedral, London, England 851.)
