~Baronia Anglica Concentrata, Vol. II, p. 139, Amandus de Sutton, son and heir of William de Sutton and had two brothers, Richard and Robert. 33 Henry II, confirmed the grant which Sayer and William gave in Sutton to the abbey of Meaux. The same Amandus, at an advanced age, with the consent of Saher, his son, gave what he had in the west marsh of Sutton, and the land of Eroald hominius ui to the same Abbey. 870

~Cokayne's Complete Peerage, 2nd Edition, (Sutton), Vol. XIIA , p. 570, In Feb 1195/96, Amandus de Sutton was party to a fine of land in Ganstead in Holderness; in 1196 to 1197, he was defendant in a suit for debt and in 1198-99, he was concerned in a plea in Yorks against Hugh de Verli. 141
