Edward I gave Maud in marriage, in 1282, to Edmund, son of Henry Lacy, the Earl of Lincoln. Maud was only five years old at the time, and Edmund died very young before he came to maturity. In 1298, she became the wife of Henry Plantagenęt, the Earl of Lancaster.

Maud de Cardurcis, under age in 1294, was the daughter of Patrick Carducis and Isabel, the daughter of William Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick. She married Henry, afterwards, Earl of Lancaster. She held Ogmore and Kidwelly. Their son was Henry, Duke of Lancaster. The second Henry was the father of Maude Plantagenęt who married John of Gaunt, and they were the parents of henry IV, King of England.

Henry, Earl of Lancaster, married before 2 Mar 1296/7, Maud, daughter and heir of Sir Patrick de Chaworth, of Kidwelly, by Isabel, daughter of William Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick. She was living 19 Feb 1217, and died sometime before 3 Dec 1322. Maud was buried at Mottisfont Priory, of which she was patron, as heir of William de Briewere, one of the founders.
