Henri de Brabant, son of Henri I "le Guerroyeur" Duke of Brabant & his first wife Mathilde de Flandre ([1207]-Louvain 1/2 Feb 1248, bur Villers). The Annales Parchenses record the birth in 1207 of "Heinricus filius ducis Heinrici"[Annales Parchenses 1207, MGH SS XVI, p. 606]. The Oude Kronik van Brabant names "Henricum postea ducem Lotharingie, Godefrido de Louanio" as the sons of "Henricus…primus, dux Lotharingie" and his wife "Mechteldim, filiam Mathei Boloniensis comitis" [Oude Kronik van Brabant, p. 62]. He succeeded his father in 1235 as Henri II duc de Brabant.

Henri duc de Brabant married firstly (before 22 Aug 1215) Maria von Staufen, daughter of Philip King of Germany Duke of Swabia & his wife Maria née Eirene Angelina of Byzantium ([1199/1200]-Louvain before 1235). The Genealogia Ducum Brabantiĉ Heredum Franciĉ names "Maria filia Philippi Romanorum" as wife of "Henricus…secundus dux" [Genealogia Ducum Brabantiĉ Heredum Franciĉ 8, MGH SS XXV, p. 390].

Henri married Maria Hohenstaufens of Swabia, daughter of Philip Duke of Swabia and Eirene Angelica Princess Byzantine Empire, before 22 Aug 1215. (Maria Hohenstaufens of Swabia was born in 1207 in Hohenstauffen, Bavaria and died in 1239 in Brabant, Belgium.)
