Richard de Veronon, son of Sir Ralph de Vernon and Maud Grosvenor. He was the grantee of the manor of Mottram, 30 Edward I. His children given by Ormerod are:

• Sir Ralph de Vernon, baron of Shibbrok, his name is recorded as a knight, 39 Edward III, he was heir to his nephew, 20 Richard II. He died about 9 Henry VI.

• Sir Richard de Vernon, knight, heir to his brother, baron of Shipbrooke, married 1st, Alice widow of William de Bulkylegh of Chedle, 4 Richard II. His second wife was Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Piers de Malbank, widow in 1418.
