Randle succeeded his brother Richard. In the life time of his father, Thomas, Randle de Merton grants the serjeancy of the countess of Warwick in Wich Malbank, about 6 Edward I. He occurs as Randle de Praers in the Plea Rolls 24/25 Edward I as plaintiff in a suit against Geoffrey Griffin.

Randle had sons Richard and Thomas, both of whom married two of the daughters and heirs of Thomas Crewe; son William, who married Sibylla, the sister of Thomas Crewe; and Robert, the ancestor of Praers of Checkley. Randle de Praers died 30 Edward I leaving Richard his son a minor.
