Clementia Banastre, who married William de Lee, was not the daughter of James Banastre, but his sister. It is on rocord that Robert, her father gave to her in free marriage, the manor of Mollington Banastre in the county of Chester, which was held by her descendants, the Hogtons of Langtons as chief lords of the fee.

Robert Fitz Robert Banastre married Alice, the daughter of Gilbert Woocock, and was living in 1289, but he died soon after leaving his widow surviving. They had issue of a son and a daughter; James, who married Elena, the daughter of Sir William le Boteler, Baron of Warrington, by whom he had issue, though whom the barony of Newton was transmitted to to her descendant, and Clementia, to whom, on her marriage to William de Lea, her father made a grant of Mollington Banastre, in Cheshire. James, heir in a line of direct succession, the last male of his house, died before his own father.
