Henry de Criwa, the first of the name and place that is known, attests a deed of William Malbank, which must have been executed about the middle of the 12th Century, by the name of witnesses: Nicholas Fitz William; Reginal Fitz Herchenbal, senschal of the barony of Wich Malbank; Roger Fitz Odard, Adam fitz Liuph de Aldithley, Alured de Cumbray, Roger his sons and others.
