Ordoño succeeded his father in 850 as Ordoño I King of Asturias. In 859 he defeated Musa ibn Musa ibn Fortún, head of the Banu Qasi family, who had rebelled against Muhammad Emir of Córdoba and taken control of Zaragoza, Tudela, Huesca and Toledo. King Ordoño I fortified the towns of León, Astorga, Tuy and Amaya. He suppressed a Basque rebellion. His forces were defeated by Abd al-Rahman, son of Emir Muhammad, in 863 when "nineteen counts were killed in the battle."

Ordoño married Munia, of unknown parents. "The Chronicon Mundi of Lucas Tudensis records that "Ordonius" married "Mumadonam" who was the mother of his five sons [Lucas Tudensis, Liber IV, p. 77]."

De Wikipedia en español Ordoño I de Asturias son of King Ramiro I and father of Alfonso III de Asturias, he was king of Asturias between 850-866. As his first wife, Ordpño married Nuña of unknown parents. They had atleast six children:

Alfonso III, inherited the throne of Asturias at the death of his father and married Jimena, with whom he had descendants. He was buried in the pantheon of kings of the Cathedral of Oviedo.
• Bermudo Ordonez, rebelled against his brother, Alfonso III, when Alfonso ascended the throne. According to Sampiro, Bermudo went into exile in Coimbra where he died shortly before December 928. On that date, Oneca - who could be the daughter of Leodegundia, likely daughter of King Ordoño I and, therefore, sister of this Bermuda, and wife of Count Diego Fernández\emdash appears making a donation to the Lorvão monastery for the soul of Veremudo dive memorie.
