Sir John de Dinham married Muriel, sister and in her issue coheir of Hugh de Courtenay, and elder daughter of Sir Thomas de Courtenay, of Woodhuish and Dunterton, Devon, Wootton Courtenay and Cricket Malherbe, Somerset, &c., by Muriel, elder daughter and coheir of Sir John de Moels, 4th Lord Moels, of Maperton and North Cadbury, Somerset, Kingskerswell, Devon, Over Worton, Oxon, Over Wallop, Hants, &c. Muriel died before 12 August 1369, and was buried in Hartland Abbey. Sir John de Dinham died, being murdered by robbers, 7 January 1382/3, aged about 64.
