"Woodford is between Plym and a rill that comes from Cornwood, a tything, that in king Henry the second's reign was granted to Robert Beauchamp, by Matild, his sister, and William Fitz Richard, her son, which afterwards became the lands of Thomas Gavegan, and descended to Tostard and Fitz Jordan, by his co-heirs. From Fitz Jordan it came unto Galfrid de Albamara, about the reign of king Edward the first, and he gave the manor in marriage with Marian, his daughter, unto sir Hugh de Bolhay, whose son, Sir Reginald de Albamara, granted the demsne of the manor unto Hamlyn Bolhay, his nephew."
