, 2nd Edition, Vol. IX, p. 397: Robert de Vaux, the founder of Lanetcost, was the brother of Raunlph de Vaux, who succeeded his brother in 1195, and died in 1198. He married Alice. [List Pat. p.349, 379; Hist MSS. Com., Wells MSS, vol.i, p.43] ¹⁴¹

Alice married Ranulph de Vaux Lord of Gillesland, son of Hubert de Vallibus and Grecia. (Ranulph de Vaux Lord of Gillesland was born about 1147 in Gilsland, Irthington, Cumberland, England and died in 1198 in England.)
