Tahaearn ap Caradog, king of Gwynedd, is said to be the son of Caradog ap Gwyn ap Collwyn and a cousin of Bleddyn ap Cynfyn. Tahaearn died in battle of Mynydd Carn in 1081. He left four sons, Meurig, Friffi, Llywarch and Owain. His descendants ruled in Arwystli until it wa absorbed into Powys by Gwenwynwyn. His grand-daughter was Gwladus who married Owain Gwynedd whose son Iorwerth Drwyndwn was the father of Llywelyn the Great.
