Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands, Comtés de Bourgogne - Étienne, son of Guillaume de Bourgogne, was murdered at Ascalon on 27 May 1102. He was the comté de Mâcon and Seigneur de Varasque. He went on the first crusade, and commanded troops with Étienne, comté de Blois. They were defeated at Marsivam. Étienne married Béatrix de Lotharingia.
