William Talbot was born abt. 1360. His son, John Talbot was the progenitor of the Talbots of Salebury, Lancashire and the Talbots of Carr, Blackburn, Lancashire. It is from John that Peter Talbot, who emigrated to New England abt. 1675, was descended from.

William Talbot, according to Dodsworth, was the younger son of Sir Edmund Talbot of Bashall. His son was John Talbot who was married to Isabella, daughter and coheir with her sister Joanna of Richard de Cliderhon by his wife Agnes.
