"Her birth is recorded by Matthew Paris "apud Rothomagum" [Matthew Paris, Vol. II, 1162, p. 218]. Her betrothal to "Aldefonso regi Castellæ" is recorded by Matthew of Paris in 1168 [Matthew Paris, Vol. II, 1168, p. 246]. Robert of Torigny records the marriage in 1170 of "Alienor filia Henrici regis Anglorum" and "Amfurso imperatore", commenting that he was not yet fifteen years old [Robert de Torigny, Vol. II, p. 22]."
