Stephen was the count of Champagne, Brie, Blois and Chartres. He was killed by Turks in the Crusade of 1101/02. Children of Adele and Stephen were Theobald IV, Count of Blois and Champagne; William of Champagne; and Stephen of Blois, King of England.

Étienne II, comté de Blois, son of Theobald III, comté de Blois married Adela of Normandy, daughter of William the Conqueror. They married in 1080 in Breteuil, France, and again in 1981 at Chrtres Cathedral. He succeeded his father as Count of Blois, Brie, Cartres and Meaux sometime before 1090. Étienne died during the siege of Ramula in the Holy Land.

Étienne married Adela de Normandy Princess of England, daughter of William I "The Conqueror" de Normandy King Of England and Matilda de Flandres et de Falaise. (Adela de Normandy Princess of England was born about 1062 in Normandy,1078 died on 8 Mar 1136-1137 in Marcigny-sur-Loire, France 529,1078 and was buried in Église de La Sainte Trinitae, Caen, Normandy 1078.)
