William Cranfield was a glover and lived to an old age. He made his will in 1611, at which time his daughter had already been married for thirty-five years and his grandson was old enough to be executor of his estate. The surname Cranfield is a place name which means "crane field," or a field where cranes congregated during the annual migrations.
