Nicholas de Audley was first summoned to parliament, 25 Edward I. According to Sir Harris Nicolas in his Peerage Synopsis [Vol.I. p. xxvii] says that it is doubtful that this was a regular summons to parliament. Nicholas died in 1299 and was succeeded by his son, Thomas lord Audley, who died shortly after 1307, underage and without issue [Dugdale], leaving a wife, daughter and heir of John lord Clavering. Thomas was succeeded by his brother, Nicholas, third lord Audley.
