Sir John de Roos, Knight, of Kirkby-Kendal, Westmorland, son and heir apparent of Sir Thomas de Roos, Knight and his wife Lady de Preston, daughter of John de Preston, Knight, of West-Morchard. He married Katherine de Strickland, daughter of Sir Thomas Strickland, Knight, of Sizergh, Westmorland, by Cecily, daughter of Robert de Wells, Knight. Sir John died July 1357, and his widow, Katherine, died in 1428. The daughter of Sir John and his wife Katherine de Strickland was Elizabeth de Roos who married Sir William Parr, Knight of Parr, Prescot, Lancashire.
