~The Visitation of Cheshire in the Year 1580, pp. 203, shows her as the daughter of Sir John Savage and Maud de Swinerton, and the sister of sir John Savage and Elenor de Bereton. ⁵²⁷

~Ormerod's History of the County Palatine and City of Chester, vol. I, p. 713, Margaret is given as a daughter of John Savage and Elenaor de Bereton. Ormerod states that she first married John Maxfeld and later married Randle Manwaring of Over-Peover, but that further proof is needed. ⁷¹³

Margaret married Ralph (Randle) Mainwaring of Carincham, son of Randle Mainwaring of Over Peover and Margery Venables.⁷¹³ (Ralph (Randle) Mainwaring of Carincham was born about 1470 in Carincham, Cheshire, England and died in 1473-1474 in Kermingham, Chester, England ⁷¹³.)
