~George Ormerod's The History of County Palatine and City of Chester, Vol II, p. 628, Philip de Egerton, named le Longe was the son and heir of David de Egerton Y Isabella Fulleshurst. Philip obtained by fine, 12 Edward III, lands in Eggerton, from John Fitz William. His inquisition, p. m. took place in 36 Edward III. He married Elena, daughter of John de St. Pierre. The date of the covenant was 9 Edward II. ⁷¹³
