Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands Aubri de Mello married, as his first wife and her third husband, Joan Basset, widow firstly of Guy Fitz Pain de Ridale and secondly to Simon de Gerardmoulins. Joan may have been the daughter of Gilbert Basset, brother of Ralph Basset. Joan's brother was Tomas Basset of Headington, Oxofrdshire, who married Alice de Dunstanville.
