Robert Fitz Hamon
married Sybil, the daughter of Roger de Montgomery, Earl fo Shrewsbury, by whom he four daughters, Mabel, Hawise, Cicely and Amice. When he died, King Henry I was not willing to have such a great estate, along with its titles, be divided amongst females. He made Hawise abbess of Winchester, Cicelia abbess of Shaftesbury, married Amice to the Earl of Brittany, and in 1109, married Mabel to his natural son Robert, whom he created Consul and Earl of Gloucester.

Robert
the King's Son, styled also de Caen, married Maud (named also Mabel and Sibyl) daughter and heir of Robert Fitz Hamon, Lord of Glamorgan, by Sibyl, daughter of Roger (de Montgomery), 1st Earl of Shrewsbury. He died 31 Oct 1147 at Bristol and was buried at the Priory of St. James, Bristol.
