Mabel, who married Roger de Montgomerie in 1048, was the daughter and heiress of William de Talvas, Cout of Bellême and Alençon. These lands became part of his lands in Normandy. Mabel was killed by Hugh Seigneur de la Roche Igé, of whom Mabel had deprived of his castle. On the night of 2 Dec 1082, Hugh entered her chamber at the Châtequ de Bures, on the Dive, near troarn, and killed her with his sword.
