Ramón was the count of Barcelona from 1076 until his dealth. He ruled jointly with his twin brother Berenguer Ramon II. Ramón was killed by his brother in 1082. Ramón married Mahalta of Apulia, daughter of Duke Robert Guiscard and Sikelgaita de Salerno. After his death, Maud remarried Aimery I of Narbonne, and was the mother of Aimery II. Ramon Berenguer and Mahalt's son, Ramon Berenguer III was the count of Barcelona and Provence.
Ramón married Mathilde di Apulia, daughter of Robert di Guiscard Duca de Apulia, Calabria & Sicily and Sikelgaita di Salerno, in 1078. (Mathilde di Apulia was born about 1059 in Puglia, Calabria, Italy and died in 1112.)
