Thomas Kirby, son of Nicholas and Joan, inherited the family home called Fabdens. He married Joan Symthe. His brother, George married and living in a near by parish called Therfield. Five of Thomas's children were baptized in Therfield, the others in Thundridge, yet Thomas apparently lived in Standon. Thomas Kirby made his will on 14 Nov 1573 and died shortly after, yet his wife survived him.
