Ailsi's eldest son named Hugh, succeeded to his father's land in Osbalderston. Ailsi gave his second son, William, Balderston early in the reign of King John. William took the name "de Balderstone." In 1224, William de Balderstone leased land to his brother John, son of Ailsi, for a term of six years. In 1246, William was one of the jurors from Blackburn Hundred summoned to a special county court.
