In their last will and testiment, Lope de Argüelles and his wife María de Estrada named their ancestors. Named as parents for María were Deigo de Argüelles, "el Sordo," a native of Consejo de Siero and doña Leonor de Herrera, a native of Ciudad Rodrigo, España. Leonora de Herrera was the legitimate daughter of don Gregorio de Herrera and María Estebánez Muñiz de Carrió.
