1779-Oct.- John McGuire relocated with parents to Boonesborough, Ky. Lived in cabin owned by David McGee on "Jouett's Creek.

1780- John McGuire relocated with parents to McGee's Station-Fayette, Co. Ky.

1787- FayetteCo. Ky. - 1st Tax List John McGuire (white male 16-20 years) listed with widow mother... Margaret McGuire-head of household.

1789-1790- John McGuire listed by himself on the Fayette Co. Ky. Tax Lists. ( 2 horses, no slaves)

1792- John McGuire joined the Fayette Co. Ky. "Militia", rank Captian. Capt. John McGuire & Josiah Hart were down on Slate Creed (present Montgomery/Bath County, Ky.) "Indians fired upon them... John wounded in shoulder."

1792- 30 Jul. - JOHN McGuire purchased 102 3/4 acres on Slate Creek (Clark Co. Ky.) from Philemon Thomas. (DB 9, Pg. 106)

1795- 6 Oct.- John McGuire sold 6 acres on Slate Creek, Clark Co. Ky. to George Thompson. (DB 1, Pg. 604)

1808- 8 Apr. - John McGuire mortgaged his track of 87 3/4 acres on Slate Creek to Putman Ering. (Montgomery Co. Ky. DB 4, Pg. 519)

1810- Greenup Co. Ky. Census list: John McGuire: 1m, 4f (age 0/10), 2m, 1f (age 10/16), 1m, 1f age (26/45).

1811 Oct.- Greenup Co. Ky. Civil Law Suit- Charles Dale vs John & Ruth McGuire "Ruth Mcguire ordered to "keep the peace" with Charles Dale & Hetty, his wife.--Security: John McGuire & William Evans.

1819- John McGuire "states he was a chain carrier" ...when James Morgan was surveyor in 1784 in Bourbon Co. Ky.(Bourbon Circuit Court Records)

1820- July - Sheriff of Greenup Co. Ky. served summons to John McGuire to appear in Bourbon Co. Ky. to answer to suit.

1840- Census of Carter Co. Ky. shows: John McGuire...1m,1f (age 15-20), 1m, 1f (age 70/80) (note: John McGuire didn't move to Carter Co. Ky.- home area was once Greenup Co. Ky. and area became Carter Co. in 1838).
