• Background Information. 632 Edmund Payne was the youngest son of Sir Thomas Payne and Edmund was alive in the thirty-second year of Henry VIII, or 1540, at which time he had a grandson, then a rich and active man. Edmund married Elizabeth, the daughter of Robert Walton of Leicester. The oldest son of there sons was our William Payne who moved to Suffolk County.
