Bernabé Baca is often mentioned after the Reconquest. It is not clear who his parents are, but he is posssibly the Bernabé Jorge, not heard of after he is graned a the Pueblo Viejo at La Ciénega in 1701 by Diego de Vargas.

Bernabé married Margarita Baca (Mata) on May 28 1718. He was Alcalde Mayor of Acoma and Laguna in the 1730s, and was very unpopular with the Pueblo people and missionaries.
