Francisco was already in New Mexico in 1626, when he was married to Juana López daughter of the late Francisco Lopez and Maria de Villafuerte. In 1642, Francisco and his Rodriguez son-in-law were in jail when Governor Rosas was murdered.

Francisco served as a prominent captain in New Mexico until his death in 1662. He was buried in the Santa Fe Parroquia. His death was attributed to sorrow when his son, Cristóbal, was arrested by the Inquisition and taken to Mexico City for trial.

Francisco married Juana López de Villafuente, daughter of Francisco López and María de Villafuente, in 1626.252 (Juana López de Villafuente was born about 1600 in Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España.)
