José de Salas remarried Bernardina Hurtado in Alburquerque, Febrary 27, after some question about the validity of their previous marriage. He might be the man named Diego who had serval aliases.

José gave his age as forty-six in 1747. A daughter of his, Francisca, was the wife of Gregorio Jaramillo. José de Salas could have been the son of either Diego de Salas or Sebstián de Salas.

José de Salas was a soldier of the Alburquerque squad. He had replaced Sebastián Salas on 13 May 1713 according to Santa Fé presidio records. On 3 Jun 1715 he passed muster with all arms and five horses. Again, he is recorded in muster lists in Santa Fé for 19 Jun 1717 with arms and four horses in the Alburquerque squadron.

He was married in Alburquerque to Bernardina Hurtado. This marriage was blessed on 17 Feb 1718. They were likely married some time before 1709.
