María Bárbara Lucero, española, 18, was the legitimate daughter of the late Juan Antonio Lucero and María Manuela Miera y Pacheco, citizens of Alburquerque.

José Antonio state that he was related to María Bárbara in the third and fourth degress of consanguinity, but that most of the people in the Alburquerque jurisdiction were related to him. María Bárbara testified that she did not know exactly how she and José Antonio were related.

Witnesses: Juan José Santillanes, 65, Citizen of Alburquerque, knew that as a poor orphan, María Bárbara was seeking José Antonio's protection.
