Pedro Luján was the son of New Mexico natives Juan Luis Luján and Isabel López. He joined the El Paso presidial company in 1686/87. He wed Francisca Martín de Salazar in 1691. Their daughter, Isabel, married Juan Lucero de Godoy in 1703. He took part in the 1713 Apache campaign and the expedition to the Hopi in 1716.
