Robert Bulkeley, of Bulkeley, Esquire, the eldest son, married a daughter of Thomas Bulter (Boteler), Baron of Warrington, in Cheshire, by whom he had two sons. First, William, his heir, and second Peter. Peter is the ancestor of the Bulkeleys, of Wore, in Shropshire, and Broxton, in Cheshire.

Robert also had four daughters. Alice married to ______ Weaver; Maud, to _______ Hampson; Janet, to John Larkton; and Margaret, to Griffith Vichan ap Jer Griffith ap Jerworth Goch.

~George Ormerod's The History of County Palatine and City of Chester, Vol II, pgs. 652, Robert de Bulkylegh, son and heir, had certain parts or shares of four bovates in Bickerton and lands in Minechurts, by deeds with date from William, son of John Laverketon. Botth Ped. and orinial charters. Sheriff of Cheshire, 46 Henry III (28 October 1260-27 October 1261) the same Robert who is described in PI.Ro. as grantee of the town of Eyton from Matthew de Alperham. He is given as the son of William de Bulklegh and married to a daughter of a Butler (Boteler), baron of Warrington. Their children are Peter de Bulkley, younger son and ancestor of the Bulkeleys of Woore. William de Bulkylegh married to Maud, daughter of Sir John Davenport, Thomas de Bukyley, who is supposted to have possed a moiety of the manor of Bulkeley, {Harl. MSS. 1535, p.28] given in the Leycester Pedigrees as his brother William.

~George Ormerod's The History of County Palatine and City of Chester, Vol III, p. 269, living 4 & 6 Edward II, and seems to have died in the later year.


Robert married Lady le Boteler, daughter of Thomas le Boteler and Unknown.
