The manor of Minshull gave the name and Minshull to the descendants of Adam, the first son of Augustine de Minshull. The estate remained in the family until the reign of King Richard II. During the reign of Edward II, Richard de Minsull married Alice de Praers of Barthomley, by whom he became possessed of Aston Hall and other property in Aston Mondrem. Both the estates of Minshull and Aston, during the reign of Richard II, became part of the Dutton family when Joanna, the sole daughter and heiress of Henry de Minshull married Edmund, younger son of Sir Thomas Dutton. During the reign of Henry VIII, the youngester daughter of another Sir Thomas Dutton, Eleanor Dutton, took these estates with her marriage to Richard Cholmondeley.
