Richard married before he came to Plymouth. He was not one of the original "Pilgrims," that were from Leyden, Holland, but rather a merchant from London. His daughters were born in England and, all married men of the Plymouth colony. These daughters, Mary, Anne, Sarah, Elizabeth and Abigail came to Plymoth with their mother, Elizabeth, on board the Anne. While in Plymouth, Richard and Elizabeth had two more children, sons Nathaniel and Joseph.

Mary married Robert Bartlett, who also came abord the ship Anne in 1623. They marriedin 1637. Thomas was a lawyer and settled in Hingham, where Mary later died. Sarah married John Cook in 1637. John Cooke was aboard the Mayflower as a youth. Elizabeth married Richard Church, son of Captain Bejamin Church, in 1636. Abigail, marred Anthony Snow in 1639. Nathaniel married Mary Walker in 1645, and Joseph married Pricilla Faunee.

A quote about Richard Warren by Governor Bradford is: "Mr. Richard Warren lived some four or five years and had his wife come over to him, by whom he had two sons before he died, and one of them is married and hath two children. So his increase is four. But he had five daughters more came over with his wife, who are all married and living, and have many children."

Richard Warren was among the group of Mayflower men who signed the Mayflower Compact. He was also one of the 19 out of 41 signers who survied the first winter. Richard made his home in the section later known as Wellingsley or Hobshole, where he died in 1628. In Nathaniel Morton's 1669 book titled, New England's Memorial, Moton commented on Richard's death by writing: "This year died Mr. Richard Warren, who was an useful instrument and during his life bare a deep share in the difficulties and troubles of the first settlement of the Plantation of New Plymouth." He was also called "a man of Integrity, justice and uprightness, of piety and serious religion."

Richard was actually among the first to land in Plymouth. He was one of the third exploring party which was surprised by Native Americas on 18 Dec 1620 at a spot that has been known as "The First Encounter."

Richard married Elizabeth Walker, daughter of Augustine Walker and Unknown, on 14 Apr 1610 in Great Amwell, Hertfordshire, England. (Elizabeth Walker was born about 1580 in England, died on 2 Oct 1673 in Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts 446,576 and was buried on 22 Oct 1673 in Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts 576.)
